Miguel R. – Lead Technician
Miguel has been with Sawyer Remodel West Covina for 11 years, and he’s the one who shows up first on almost every job. His specialty is layout and waterproofing, which in a bathroom remodel means he’s the reason your tile lines hit the tub dead center and your shower doesn’t leak into the dining room three years later. He holds his Schluter waterproofing certification and can tell you exactly why a Kerdi membrane beats hot mopping by the numbers, not by the brochure. Off the clock, Miguel coaches Little League at Shadow Oak Park and claims he can rebuild a Kohler valve assembly faster than he can fold a lawn chair. We’ve seen the valve. The chair is debatable.
Susan T. – Senior Installer
Susan has 16 years in residential renovation, eight of them with our crew. Cabinetry is her lane. She’s installed KraftMaid and Wellborn boxes in kitchens from Walnut to Baldwin Park, and she’s the reason our countertop seams on Cambria and Caesarstone never line up wrong. Susan is meticulous about reveals and drawer alignment in a way that makes the rest of us look bad. She also keeps a notebook in her truck with a sketch and measurement for every single vanity she’s ever hung. Her side fixation is houseplants, which her husband says is out of control, and which we say explains why every photo update she sends has better staging than ours.
Dante L. – Service Coordinator
Dante is the voice on the phone at 6 a.m. and the name attached to your schedule. He’s been coordinating remodels in the San Gabriel Valley for nine years, and he’s the one making sure the live arrival time you get actually matches the truck pulling up. Before joining Sawyer Remodel West Covina, Dante spent years in apartment maintenance across West Covina and Covina, so when you call about a weird noise behind a wall, he usually knows what it is before the technician does. He’s a Dodgers guy who will absolutely find a reason to mention the 2024 season if a job runs long. If you email a permit question, Dante answers it within the hour, usually with the form attached.
Jake P. – Apprentice
Jake joined us two years ago after finishing trade school, and he’s the one carrying the drywall sheets while Miguel checks the laser line. He’s learning waterproofing first because we don’t let anyone near finished tile work until they understand what failure looks like. Jake is early to every job, which is not a personality trait we taught him, and he asks the kinds of questions that make Susan stop and actually think. He grew up in West Covina and went to West Covina High, so he knows which streets flood in January and which 1960s builds have the metal lath that fights back. He’s the future of the crew, and the present-tense reason our material staging area is always squared up.
