Tremron Home Additions & ADU: The West Covina Owner’s Guide
If you’re planning a home addition or ADU with Tremron pavers, block, or retaining wall systems already on your property, you’re likely looking at a $45,000 to $130,000 project in West Covina, and the materials you choose for the footprint, drainage, and hardscape integration matter just as much as the framing. That’s the range we quote most often for additions that tie into existing Tremron hardscape. Most West Covina homeowners discover they need our help not when the addition fails outright, but when the existing Tremron block or paver lines start shifting, cracking, or draining wrong at the seam where new construction meets old hardscape.
We’re an independent West Covina contractor, not affiliated with Tremron, but we work with their block and paver systems regularly because they hold up well in our soil conditions when the base is done right. If your Tremron hardscape is failing at the connection point to a planned addition, or you need to match existing Tremron block for a new ADU foundation wall, you’re in the right place.
Which Tremron Models This Applies To

Tremron supplies concrete block, pavers, and retaining wall systems across Southern California, and the compatibility question usually comes down to which product line was used on your original hardscape. The three we see most in West Covina are Tremron’s Stonegate pavers, Splitface retaining block, and structural CMU block used for foundation and stem walls. The key measurement is the paver thickness and block face dimension: Tremron Stonegate pavers run 60mm for pedestrian use and 80mm for driveway-rated applications, and mixing those up is one of the most common mistakes we see on DIY additions.
The OEM-versus-aftermarket decision for Tremron is simpler than for most brands. Tremron block is a commodity product with a manufacturer spec, not a proprietary fit, so aftermarket equivalents from CalStone or RCP can match dimensionally. But color match is the gotcha. Tremron’s color lots shift year to year, and a paver bought in 2018 will not match a new batch from any supplier. If your addition needs to blend seamlessly, we order a color sample batch and hold it against the existing hardscape before committing. Luca Romano has spent enough time matching old Tremron color lots to know when it’s time to blend and when it’s time to replace the whole section.

Signs Your Tremron Home Additions & ADU Is Failing
- Pavers sinking or lifting at the addition seam. This is a base failure, not a paver failure. West Covina’s expansive clay soil swells and contracts with moisture, and if the new addition’s base wasn’t compacted to the same spec as the original, you’ll see a visible step line within the first rain season.
- Water pooling against the addition’s foundation. If the Tremron hardscape was sloped for the old lot layout and the addition changed the grade, you’ve got a drainage problem that will eventually crack the foundation wall.
- Cracks running through Tremron block at the corner junctions. On ADUs built with CMU stem walls, corner cracks mean the footing settled unevenly or the block wasn’t reinforced to spec for the added load.
- Color fading or surface spalling on pavers. This doesn’t mean the part failed structurally, but it does mean the addition looks ten years older than it is. Sealant failure is the usual culprit, and it’s worth fixing before the surface erodes further.
- Gaps opening between block units. When the sand or mortar joint erodes, individual blocks shift and the wall loses lateral strength. On retaining walls supporting an addition’s grade, this is a structural issue, not a cosmetic one.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

Home additions in West Covina run $45,000 to $130,000, and ADU construction runs $90,000 to $220,000. Where your project lands depends on the footprint, whether you’re doing a stick-built addition or a garage conversion, and how much existing Tremron hardscape has to be removed, re-graded, and reinstalled. If it’s just the Tremron portion failing, a hardscape repair on an addition seam typically runs $3,500 to $11,000 as part of the larger project.
What’s included: demolition and haul-off of failed hardscape, base compaction to spec, new Tremron or matched-equivalent material, re-sloping for drainage, and a written line-item quote before we start. The 365-Day Done Right Promise covers the hardscape work for a full year. If it’s not done right, we make it right, in writing, on every project.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely check drainage by running a hose along the addition seam and watching where the water pools. That tells you a lot about whether you need a base repair or a full re-slope. What you shouldn’t do is lift and reset Tremron pavers yourself to “save money.” The base is the expensive part, and if you compact it wrong on West Covina clay, it’ll fail again in one season. Block work on a structural wall is worse. That’s not a weekend job, and a failed retaining wall can put pressure on your addition’s foundation. Good work shows. Bad work shows up later.

FAQs

Tremron pavers last 25 to 30 years when the base is compacted correctly, but the base itself often needs service within 10 to 15 years due to West Covina’s expansive clay soil shifting through wet-dry cycles. For an exact quote on your project, call (341) 217-4204, estimates are free.
Yes, if the failure is localized to a seam or corner, we can pull and reset only the affected section. If the base has failed across the addition’s footprint, partial repair will leave a visible and structural weakness. Call (341) 217-4204 and we’ll tell you honestly which one you’ve got.
For most additions and ADUs in West Covina, the hardscape removal, re-grade, and reinstall runs 3 to 7 working days depending on access and the size of the failed area. We book the work around your addition’s framing schedule so we’re not holding anyone up.
We don’t warehouse Tremron inventory, but we order direct from local West Covina suppliers with 2 to 3 day turnaround on standard sizes. We also work with KraftMaid for cabinetry, and Cambria and Silestone for countertops, so your entire addition can come from one contractor.
